Some years ago, the traditional Kling plants close to my parent's home town burnt down completely. Now it seems an investor is found who will hopefully turn this place into something useful again. Might step by there more often in the next months.
There is a small specialty garage in Bonn-Mehlem. The guy does British classics only and keeps two old red Minis in front of the shop. Not sure whether he plans to ever give these a decent restauration.
Close to my hotel on Fuerteventura I came along this fascinating installation on a traffic circle. This piece of art was created by Lisbet Fernandez Ramos and consists of two groups of young children: one group staring at the sun, the other staring at the moon. Check out how this traffic circle looks from above:
I visited the Rheinbach Classics today, an oldtimer festival close by. I came along many stunning cars, mostly in breathtaking condition. Among them was this amazing Corvette Sting Ray, drawing the attention of the masses. The prices for cars like this are outrageously expensive if you want them in excellent condition, so should I indeed get to buy a classic car some time soon, I think I'd have to go for a manta ray and not for a sting ray ;)
I finally got to work on the Fuerteventura photos. And here we go, another lighthouse. It's the lighthouse of Morro Jable on the Jandia peninsula, in walking-distance from my hotel.
I had to defrost my icebox lately and put all the ice chunks in the sink. After two hours the melting relicts presented themselves as interesting objects.
Being still busy with re-organizing my photo-archive, I found this picture of an abandoned snail-shell. I took it during a rain-break on a rainy day in spring when all of a sudden the sun came through and nicely shed a few beams of warm light on the shell that someone must have brought home from a vacation at the north-sea, being nicely decorated on this wooden board somewhere in my parents' garden. I always wanted to print this in poster-size to put it up the wall but could not decide which of the many post-process outputs I produced I like best. Well, here's a start.
This is the old Elbtunnel in Hamburg. Cars go up (or down) using only two elevators on each side to overcome 24 meters down to tunnel level. The roads in the two tunnel sections just fit one car. The tunnel was built in 1911 and is still in use today, even if most tourists think it's an industrial monument.

Because I was lucky enough to capture a solitary moment in this mystical, barely illuminated place, I decided to pimp this shot in Lightroom a bit and submit it to [this week's Photofriday challenge "Shiny"](http://www.photofriday.com/archives/challenge/000878.php).
